Natural teeth can be lost due to periodontal disease, tooth decay or injury. Complete dentures can replace those missing teeth and give you a complete smile. Replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health. You will be able to eat and speak–two things that most people take for granted until their natural teeth are prematurely lost. Dr. Garpetti and Dr. Elliott are experts in dental prosthetics and can recreate your smile right here in our office!
There are various types of dentures. A conventional denture is made and placed in the patient’s mouth after the teeth are removed and the surrounding tissues have healed. This may take several months.
An immediate denture is placed as soon as the teeth are removed. The benefit of an immediate denture is that the patient does not have to be without teeth during the healing period. This type of denture will require a reline after the tissues have had a chance to heal.
A denture in conjunction with implants provide even more stability. Dr. Garpetti and Dr. Elliott will determine if you are a candidate for implants and which type of denture is right for you.
Dentures can be made to closely resemble your natural teeth. They provide support for cheeks and lips to diminish facial muscle sag.
